STORRS, Conn. -- UConn women's soccer head coach Margaret Rodriguez has announced the addition of Patrycja "Pato" Jerzak to the program.
Jerzak played for both the Djurgardens IF First Team and Djurgardens U19 team. The First Team competes in the Damallsvenskan league, the highest senior level in Sweden while the U19 team competes in the highest U19 level, Allsvenskan. In 2016, Jerzak started 30 games for the U19 team, scoring 15 goals and chipping in 10 assists.
With her Polish heritage, Jerzak has also competed on the Poland U17 (15 caps) and U19 (13 caps) national teams.
"Pato should come in and have an immediate impact on our team," said Rodriguez. "I expect her to be a big offensive weapon and help develop our attack. Her time in Sweden and Poland has given her valuable experience and she is very mature for her age, which will help her adjust to this level. I am excited to have her join us this semester, allowing her to get familiar with the university, teammates and make her feel at home before playing in the fall.
Jerzak is enrolled for the upcoming spring semester at UConn and has freshmen eligibility when she takes the field in the fall.
