No. 1 Huskies Host No. 4 Louisville on Monday Night

The top-ranked University of Connecticut women’s basketball team rounds out nonconference play this week with a highly anticipated Top-5 tilt against No. 4 Louisville on Monday evening. Tip-off from Gampel Pavilion is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the UConn/IMG Sports Radio Network.

Connecticut (24-0) faces its seventh Top-25 ranked foe and third Top-5 opponent in the Cardinals (25-1). UConn has won 32 of the last 40 games it has played against opponents ranked in the AP top-5, including the last 18 in-a-row.

Paced by a season- and game-high 26 points from Napheesa Collier the Huskies routed Wichita State, 124-43, to improve to 12-0 in American Conference play on Sunday. UConn was fueled by five double-digits scorers in the tilt as the Huskies scored their second highest point total in program history.

Two Huskies find themselves ranked nationally in three-point field goal shooting percentage, with Kia Nurse leading the country at 48.8 percent from long range. Katie Lou Samuelson is also in the national 3FG% rankings (45.8, 11th).

Looking at Louisville



The Cardinals come to Storrs riding a 13-game road win streak. Asia Durr boasts a team-best 19.8 points per game while Myisha Hines-Allen is collecting a team-high 10.0 boards per game and chipping in with 14.0 points per game.

The Series vs Louisville

UConn is 16-1 all-time against Louisville and the Huskies have won 16 in-a-row in the series. The Huskies have won 36-straight against ACC teams dating back to an 82- 76 loss at No. 2 UNC on 1/15/07.
