UConn loses to The Citadel, 4-2

March 11, 2018

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UConn baseball team lost on Sunday afternoon 4-2 to the Citadel at Joe Riley Park.

The Huskies trailed 2-0 going to the sixth inning when Anthony Prato and Zac Susi recorded back-to-back singles to open up the inning. Isaac Feldstein put the Huskies on the board with a sac fly to plate Prato. After a pair of good dirt ball reads by Susi moved him to third base, John Toppa walked to put runners at the corners and one out.

Freshman Christian Fedko delivered an RBI single into right field to even the score. The Huskies were never able to secure the lead though as they stranded the bases loaded in the frame.

The Citadel took the lead for good on a two-run shot just inside the left field foul pole in the seventh inning.

Jacob Wallace pitched well out of the UConn bullpen, logging 1.1 scoreless innings.

The Huskies look to even up the four-game series on Monday at 3 p.m.
